The road/sky is taken from a photo my step-daughter took near her home in Archerwill, Saskatchewan. The DeSoto however, was parked in a field outside of Keremeous, BC where I stopped to take a photo while out on a wine tour in the area.

"My Rocky Mountaineer Engineer"
Retiring from CPR after 35 years of service, my husband Greg has taken a position as Engineer for the Rocky Mountaineer. I travelled out of Kamloops, BC one morning prior to his trip to Banff and stood on the side of the road waiting to capture this image. In the photo Greg is actually waving at me from the train. It was very exciting to see him drive past as I quickly took as many photos as I could! Stay tuned for more paintings of the Rocky Mountaineer!

While on vacation in Yellowknife we were fortunate to meet art historian, Michael Burtch who was in the area searching for locations visited by Canada's most celebrated landscape painters, The Group of Seven. We met Mr. Burtch one morning and found this particular spot where AY Jackson had sat and painted. It was a very exciting moment for us which inspired this painting.
